LEGOLAND takes action against wheel bolt looseners

Updated: Nov 21, 2022

IIn the summer of 2017, LEGOLAND had problems with loosened wheel bolts in their parking lot. They therefore chose to install additional security via surveillance of the site with a SITE-SECURITY system.

SITE-SECURITY is a Danish company who develops mobile surveillance systems for e.g. parking spaces. And it works. The extra security in LEGOLAND's car park meant that the problem with wheel bolt releaseers was stopped.

As one of the biggest attractions in Denmark, it was important for LEGOLAND to send a signal that they do not compromise on the safety of their guests and that guests do not have to worry about their car while visiting the park. Loosened wheel bolts are a growing problem for Danish companies and shopping centers. These rough pranks can have serious consequences for the vulnerable if not detected in time. SITE-SECURITY has the solution against wheel bolt releaseers, a system that reacts immediately to troublemakers. At LEGOLAND, they have been happy with the mobile solution in the parking lot that can be pillaged down when the season ends. The fully connected system means that they have avoided physical guard patrols around the area. In addition, the park has saved the investment in a permanent system, as this mobile monitoring can be rented while the season is in progress.

About LEGOLAND BILLUND: With an estimated number of visitors of 1,700,000 guests in 2016, LEGOLAND in Billund is the third most visited attraction in Denmark, only surpassed by Tivoli and Dyrehavsbakken.

FACTS: SITE-SECURITY processed 7000 weekly guests in the area and not a single case of loosened wheel bolts was reported at the places the monitoring took place
